Villa la Torre has  been restored and arranged in the typical umbrian style, it is situated 2 Kms far away from the town of Amelia. It lies on a quiet place with nice views on the surrounding landscape, the position offers much privacy to the guests. The property has a private garden with a 10x5 swimming pool for private use of the tenants. There is a large covered terrace with sight on Amelia if you prefer to eat all together outside. To cook also a barbecue at disposition. Furthermore there are 3 more covered terraces and several other places ,all equipped with table/chairs, to stay outside. The main villa dispose of 6 bedrooms (14 sleeping places + 2 extra beds), the living room on the first floor can be used as 7th bedroom. On 10 meters distance 2 small units are available, each with 4 sleeping places (double bed + double divan bed). All the necessary shops (supermarkets, bakers, etc) are available in the town of Amelia. The nearest restaurant/pizzeria is 1,5 Kms from the property, more restaurants are available in and around Amelia. If you don't want to cook but at the same time prefer to eat in the villa, it is possible to prepare a dinner directly at the villa (usually local dishes). The nearest exit of the highway is 10 minutes from the property. Journey: Rome 1h-1h30, Orvieto 1h, Spoleto 1h, Perugia 1h20, Arezzo 2h, Siena 2h20.

SOUTHERN/CENTRE UMBRIA

In Umbria, a region that has gained a name for being the green heart of Italy, tourism is growing because of the unfamiliar harmony between nature, antiquities, historic centres and culture. The quiet of the countryside, good provisions and an inimitable cuisine are the great draw. This region is less touristy than Tuscany and this is especially appreciated by many tourists.

Southern/centre Umbria forms an ideal starting point for enjoying the peace of the surrounding hilly and mountainous landscape and on the other hand making trips to beautifull towns like Todi, Orvieto, Narni, Spoleto, Perugia, Gubbio, Assisi. There are also numerous charming little villages – many of medieval origin - as Amelia, Labro, Spello, Norcia, Bevagna, Montefalco to visit. In many towns and villages you can taste local dishes or buy local wines and olive oil (generally of excellent quality). You can also easily visit – in day trips - famous towns and charming villages in the southern part of Tuscany such as Siena, Arezzo, San Giminiano, Pienza, Cortona, Sinalunga, etc. Many tourists visit also Rome from here (without staying in the city which is very hot in summer) once or more times. It is possible to go by car (journey of 1h-1h30) or by train from the stations of: Terni, Narni-Amelia, Orte & Orvieto.

We must not forget the mountains with some splendid woods, e.g. Terminillo (up to 2000 metres by car). In around 1 hour it is possible to reach the shimmering lakes of Bracciano, Vico, Piediluco, Bolsena and Trasimeno. The Mediterranean Sea (mostly sand beaches) situated between Tarquinia and Chiarone are 90-120 Kms away (around 1h20-1h40 driving). Near the city of Terni you can also visit the Marmore falls (165 meters, one of the highest of Europe), there is nearby also a rafting/canoeing/hydrospeed center.
